BFFD Cirebon 2026: SGI Launches COASTAL 95/31 SC

BFFD Cirebon 2026: SGI Launches COASTAL 95/31 SC
About Event

SGI - What if farmers could not only hear explanations about cultivation technology, but also see the results of its application directly in the field? This is the spirit of BFFD Cirebon 2026 in Pabuaran District, Cirebon Regency, West Java. On September 16-17, 2026, PT Sinar General Industries brought together farmers, field experience, demonstration plots, cultivation discussions, and the launch of COASTAL 95/31 SC in a single event.

The event was even more relevant because Pabuaran is located in an area closely associated with shallot cultivation. More than 250 farmers attended the series of activities organized by the SGI West Java Regional Team. Sobat SGI not only received information, but could also compare the results of SGI demonstration plots with farmers' comparison plots, attend product presentations, discuss shallot pests and diseases, and take part in direct sales with prizes.

More Than 250 Farmers Attend BFFD Cirebon 2026

The attendance of more than 250 farmers shows that field activities continue to play an important role in agriculture. For farmers, seeing crops directly is often easier to understand than simply listening to explanations indoors. Leaf conditions, growth uniformity, symptoms of pest attacks, crop responses, and treatment results can be observed together and then discussed based on actual field conditions.

At BFFD Cirebon 2026, the field became the main learning space. Farmers could compare crops in the demonstration plot with those in the comparison plot, and then discuss the differences they observed. This learning approach helps farmers understand that cultivation results are influenced by a series of decisions, ranging from field observation and the selection of agricultural inputs to application accuracy, weather conditions, and the management of plant pests and diseases.

Pabuaran and the Strength of Cirebon Shallot Production

The selection of Pabuaran as the event location was based on strong considerations. Cirebon Regency is one of the areas with potential for horticultural development, particularly shallots. Based on Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Cirebon Regency 2025, as used in the event materials, the harvested shallot area reached 3,026.79 hectares with production of 301,665 quintals.

The five districts identified as the main shallot production centers in Cirebon Regency are Losari, Pabedilan, Pabuaran, Gebang, and Babakan. Pabuaran's position among these production areas makes activities focused on shallots closely aligned with the needs of local farmers. When an activity is held in the middle of a production area, the discussions that arise can also be more easily connected to the problems farmers actually face in the field.

Demonstration Plots Provide Visible Proof

One of the main objectives of the event was to provide tangible evidence of the results of SGI's shallot crop technology package. Therefore, comparing the demonstration plot with farmers' comparison plots became an important part of the event. Sobat SGI could directly observe crop conditions rather than only receive explanations about a particular treatment.

What Should Be Observed in the Field?

When observing a demonstration plot, farmers should not only assess the plants that appear the greenest. Observe growth uniformity, leaf conditions, the presence of pest and disease symptoms, overall crop growth, and changes after treatment. Notes on application timing, weather conditions, and crop conditions before treatment also help provide a more complete assessment.

A good comparison is not simply about finding which plot looks the best, but about understanding the process that makes the results different. In this way, the experience gained during BFFD can become a consideration when Sobat SGI returns to manage their respective fields.

COASTAL 95/31 SC Introduced to Farmers

BFFD Cirebon 2026 also marked the launch of COASTAL 95/31 SC. The product was introduced directly among shallot farmers so that the discussion could be linked to crop conditions and pest challenges encountered in the production area.

The launch of COASTAL 95/31 SC was part of the BFFD Cirebon 2026 series of activities.

According to product information from PT Sinar General Industries, COASTAL 95/31 SC is a protective insecticide formulated as a suspension concentrate to help control leaf miners in shallot crops. The product contains chlorantraniliprole 95 g/L and emamectin benzoate 31 g/L. Its use must always follow the instructions on the product label, including the recommended target, dosage, timing, and application method.

Why Is the Launch in Pabuaran Relevant?

The event materials note that farmers in Cirebon Regency face challenges related to limited water sources during prolonged dry seasons. Hot and dry conditions during the dry season are also identified as a period that requires vigilance because pests such as caterpillars and leaf miners may develop. Under these conditions, routine crop observation becomes important so that early symptoms can be recognized before it is too late.

Launching the product during a field activity gives farmers the opportunity not only to learn the product name, but also to understand its intended target and the importance of reading the label before application. This approach helps position the product as part of crop management based on actual field conditions, rather than merely a routine spraying habit.

Field discussions provide a space for farmers to discuss crop conditions and cultivation challenges.

Start with Early Observation

Sobat SGI should develop the habit of observing crops regularly. Changes in leaf color, mining trails, tissue damage, uneven growth, or an increase in pest presence can indicate that the crops need to be examined more carefully. Earlier observation provides more time to determine the appropriate action.

Use Products According to Their Target and Label Instructions

Do not use a product simply because the infestation appears severe. First, identify the type of problem being faced, the target listed on the label, the dosage, spray volume, and application timing. For COASTAL 95/31 SC, SGI's official information lists leaf miners on shallots as the target. If field conditions are still unclear, consult an agricultural officer or an authorized extension professional.

Record Results and Evaluate Each Treatment

Simple recordkeeping can help farmers compare results between treatments. Application dates, weather conditions, crop age, symptoms before application, and changes after application can be recorded briefly. This habit allows future cultivation decisions to be based more strongly on real experience from the farmer's own field.

BFFD Cirebon Becomes a Shared Learning Space

The importance of BFFD lies not only in the number of participants or the product launch. A gathering of more than 250 farmers creates space for exchanging experiences. A problem experienced by one farmer can become a learning opportunity for another, while a successful practice can be discussed before being applied to fields with different conditions.

For SGI, field activities also provide an opportunity to hear farmers' needs directly. Information about water limitations, pest attack patterns, seasonal conditions, and cultivation practices provides important input so that agricultural assistance and solutions remain closely aligned with real needs in the field.

SGI Continues to Stand with Farmers

BFFD Cirebon 2026 demonstrates how education, field verification, farmer discussions, and the introduction of agricultural solutions can take place within a single event. For Sobat SGI, field experience can serve as a reminder that productivity is not built through a single treatment alone. Careful observation, appropriate use of agricultural inputs, evaluation of results, and a willingness to continue learning remain important parts of shallot cultivation.

PT Sinar General Industries remains committed to providing solutions for farmers through quality products that support crop growth and improve agricultural productivity.
